A man who joined the Royal Navy at 17 and served for 7 years before joining the Merchant Navy as an Electrical Officer.

He continued as a ‘Sparky’ tending ‘toasters to turbines’ for over 25 years until his retirement which gave him the freedom to do what he wanted which included a spell of being a Court usher, commercial driving and local authority taking disabled children to appointments.

Having travelled all over the world with all types of cargo, his geographical knowledge always surpassed everyone else’s at Trivial Pursuit!

A man who asked for nothing but was always available to assist his family and others in any way he could.
