We were delighted to be involved in Capital Link’s Digital Operational Excellence in Shipping Forum with our two Vice Presidents Dr. Grahaeme Henderson and Esben Poulsson as panelists.
This annual event, now in its 10th year, showcases Operational Excellence in the Maritime Sector and explores Best Industry Practices across all major areas such as fleet management, technological innovation, crewing, energy efficiency and the environment, safety & security. Obviously, this year the operational challenges from the Covid-19 reality to sustainability and ESG considerations and new challenges on ship safety, security, and human resources were given special attention.
Capital Link said to the attendees – When the world was in global lockdown, and we were all restricted home, ships kept sailing, picking up and delivering cargo, keeping the supply chain uninterrupted. This could not have happened without the endurance and commitment of the crews onboard the ships who have been facing unprecedented challenges keeping everything running.
“We believe Seafarers are essential workers and an integral part of the shipping industry” Nicholas Bornozis, Founder, President, and CEO of Capital Link.
To have industry leaders from all over the world coming together to discuss the ‘human’ element of shipping was a great opportunity for the Mission to shine a light on seafarer welfare issues.
